MailVue answers
QUESTIONS BEFORE
THE FIRST PACKAGE.
Clear answers for mail-center owners evaluating, configuring, or launching MailVue.
Getting started
Who is MailVue for?+
Independent mail centers, pack-and-ship stores, coworking spaces, and other operators that manage physical or virtual mailboxes.
How long does setup take?+
You can create a location and configure the basics quickly. A real launch also includes choosing how customer billing is handled, importing or assigning mailboxes, setting service rules, inviting staff, and testing one complete customer journey. Stripe is optional. Use the onboarding guide as your launch checklist.
Can you help migrate existing customers?+
Yes. MailVue includes a migration flow for existing mailbox customers and preserves paid-through dates when needed. Bulk-import assistance should be coordinated before a live cutover.
Is there a free trial?+
MailVue includes the first month free for new store subscriptions. Your exact checkout terms are shown before payment.
Mailboxes, customers, and compliance
Can I manage physical and virtual mailboxes together?+
Yes. MailVue keeps one customer record across physical mailboxes, virtual mail, and optional Registered Agent service while preserving the correct plan and operational workflow for each service.
Does MailVue prepare USPS Form 1583?+
MailVue can collect the corresponding customer and identity details and prepare a prefilled Form 1583 for review and printing. The customer still signs where required; MailVue does not invent a signature or signature date.
Can customers sign up in store?+
Yes. Staff can open an in-store signup experience or share a QR code. The customer completes the intake on a phone or store iPad, then staff reviews the submission, assigns the mailbox, and completes payment.
Can I set 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-month terms?+
Yes. Each active plan can expose the prepaid terms you configure. A mid-month customer pays the selected term plus the prorated remaining calendar days, and the first-of-month renewal date is shown before payment.
Mail and package operations
How are customers notified?+
Staff can send separate mail-arrival and package-ready notifications. Email is supported, and consented SMS notifications are included with the store subscription.
Are packages ready for pickup automatically?+
Yes. New package intake defaults to ready for pickup so staff can notify the customer without an extra status step.
Can staff organize shelf locations?+
Yes. Mail and package locations can be configured by shelf section and collapsed by group—for example A-1 through A-5 together—so long storage lists stay manageable.
Can customers request scans, forwarding, shredding, or pickup?+
Yes. Customers can submit service requests from their portal. Staff can quote, fulfill, charge, and retain an audit trail for the request.
Billing and shipping
Where do customer payments go?+
Stores can keep billing in their existing system or optionally use a connected Stripe account for MailVue-managed payments. MailVue does not store full card numbers.
Which receipt should I use?+
Stripe payments use the official Stripe-hosted receipt. MailVue generates a receipt only for payments recorded outside Stripe, such as cash, check, or another point-of-sale system.
Can I buy shipping labels in MailVue?+
MailVue supports live carrier rates and label purchase through its shipping workflow. A store can also choose “Create label in store” and continue using its existing shipping or POS system, then record the carrier and tracking number in MailVue.
Can I set my own mailbox prices and fees?+
Yes. Each location controls its plans, enabled terms, setup fee, deposit, service charges, add-ons, and featured “Most popular” plan.
